The porting system in a subwoofer helps increase maximum output capability of the subwoofer at the deepest frequencies.

The porting system functions as a ‘Helmholtz Resonator’ and is commonly referred to as a bass reflex system.

Ported SVS subs are larger than their sealed counterparts, and this allows a deep port tuning frequency to be achieve and also contributes to overall system efficiency.

SVS offers both ported and sealed subwoofers.
