20-39 CS $429.00

PB12–Ultra/2
Passive Cylinder CS Series

The best of both worlds. These subs go nearly as low as the bottom trolling SVS 16-46's, and have nearly the sheer sound pressure level capability of the mighty 25-31's. Want bass as low as nearly anything goes, and want it to move you...literally? Get one, or if you dare (and have a large room) get a pair. You'll have more deep, accurate, and powerful bass than nearly anyone on the planet, excepting those who already have SVS's, and those who spent MUCH more, naturally.
  • Power handling, 350 watts RMS. 4 Ohm load
  • 20 Hz extension quasi-anechoic

20-39 CS Features [continued]

The subwoofer that started it all for SVS remains the purest statement of form, function and value we make. Loaded with excellent components from its CNC’d base-plate to it’s fully damped protective top grill. In between there are gems like our Improved Standard Driver, a design so good we have sold hundreds as upgrades to first generation SVS subwoofers. Every part of our latest CS has been designed and built to be the best in the industry at an affordable price. At SVS, performance is first priority and cost comes second, always. The below list reflects our approach to building a no-compromise entry level subwoofer that only needs the addition of a Samson amp, or one of your own.

SVS 12" ISD (Improved Standard Driver) Woofer

Want woofers? Well if you want the best for your money there's only one place to go...SVS. We doubt you'll find a woof with more features or better performance in this class. How can we be so sure? Because these are made in the USA, just for us. There are some other excellent 12" woofers out there. We've used them, tested them, abused them. But they can't give you better performance for your money. And this is the latest design with over two years of experience and improvements to show. If there is a better driver in a sub that costs less than $1,000 we're not aware of it.

If we could find a driver that gave you more accurate, more powerful bass (and keep prices down to earth), believe us, we'd use it. Oh, for what it's worth, we think our driver looks darn good too. Now, does that matter? Maybe not, but we believe just knowing this sort of care goes into your sub can make things sound that much better. In case you were wondering... the only way you can get one of these beauties is to get one of our subwoofers.

  • Cast aluminum frame
  • Double stacked magnet
  • Chromed vented pole piece
  • Gold plated, high tension binding posts
  • Rigid Kevlar impregnated pulp cone
  • Inverted dust cap
  • Flat 8" Nomex spider, beefy 2.5" voice-coil
  • Integral rubber mounting gasket
  • High-efficiency, long throw design

Integrated Base Plate with Downfiring Woofer and Floor Mounts

No matter how your rock rolls, or how low your organ goes, the shockwaves emanating from that high efficiency woofer propagate out from a fixed platform, our integrated base-plate. Not the floor, and not your ceiling. When you're in the midst of your favorite action movie scene you might wonder if such a stylish, modern looking enclosure can can really move your home theater (without moving around itself). Fortunately for SVS customers, all the drama will be on screen, and all around you in gut pounding, accurate bass. Your subwoofer will serenely be belting it out at all the right moments. Rock solid. Utterly unflappable. Once again, form follows function at SVS.

Want another example of thinking outside the box? How about something simple, like putting our drivers in the preferred downward firing position. Easier said than done in a slender column oriented subwoofer! But doing it this way makes for the most stable enclosure. Its low center of gravity and an inherently well-protected woofer mean years of rock-solid performance. Bass that goes this low, starts there too.

So maybe you have a hard floor and it's time to setup your sub? You won't find hard plastic feet that might vibrate on your SV Subwoofer. Instead the default mounting configuration is a set of compliant disks perfectly suited for wood, vinyl or tile flooring. Because our subs have such a low center of gravity the same setup works just as well on thickly padded and carpeted floors too.

Precision Tuned High-Flow Port

Computer Designed and Patented, these high-flow, low noise ports are made in the USA and an industry standard. Why fix what ain't broke?? (But we do get them at a great price on your behalf...it helps when you are on a first name basis with the inventor!).

Resonance Free, Protective Top Port Grill

No driver to damage up top there, but who needs the kids dropping their toy cars into your sub? Specially modified for total resonance damping, these stylish grills are as good looking as they are functional. Did we mention that the special damping features were added because we once detected a hint of harmonics emanating from the grill (on a special test tone)?? Yes, someone did sweat the details on the performance of each component in your next sub.

Heavy Duty Gold Plate Binding Posts

Never will you see cheap spring-clip binding posts on a SV Subwoofer. We use heavy-duty brass "binders" that can take up to 12 gauge speaker wire, spades, or pins.  Due to base-plate clearances banana plugs will not fit on these subs.

Simple, high quality, and ready for plenty of power. They say "it's the little things that count". Here's proof we believe it.

If you really want to go "high-zoot" look to connect your sub with our exclusive Better Cables wire sets.  The perfect match for your SVS!

Architectural-Grade Black Fabric Exterior

Some audio enclosures and grills are made from some pretty cheap materials. At SVS we don't cut corners in an effort to increase profits. We just hand select excellent materials that we'd want (and have) in our own homes. Specially laminated and extra thick MDF baffles, and costly high-end fabrics. All still brought to you at affordable prices. And we think that logo is pretty hot too.

Pro-Grade Interconnect

Don't get the idea that because this is a "standard interconnect" there is anything "standard" about it! These one meter (about 3') cables are packed in with every SVS CS, and CS-Plus subwoofer package which includes a Samson amp. While not quite as fine as our Better Cables offerings, these cables are made just for us in the US with such niceties as gold center pin Neutrik RCA connectors, US-built 1/4" mono right angle jacks and beefy shielded pro-grade copper cabling.

We offer upgrades to Better Cables if you prefer to spend more (Better Cables interconnects come at no extra cost with CS-Ultra and SS subwoofer amp/sub packages), but really there is no need. See, most companies, if they even include a "pack in" cable, provide some pretty cheesy items in our experience. At SVS, our standard cables are probably better than most high end interconnects. So while you can go up from here, keep in mind that your CS and CS-Plus already come with some of the nicest interconnects you have probably ever used.

NOTE: Subwoofer systems ordered with one of SVS's equalizer offerings also come with a matching 1/4" to 1/4" pro-grade cable. CS-Ultra packages ordered with an equalizer include Better Cable versions.
