How does a subwoofer get reviewed?  There are probably many ways, but here's how it works at SVS.  You send out a sub when someone of merit asks for one to test, and you forget about it.  It can take months, years even to see any results.  The PC-Ultra is amazing enough that we were little concerned that veteran audio reviewer Howard Ferstler would like it.

But it's pretty clear the usually unflappable Mr. Ferstler was fairly smitten with the clean, powerful sound, efficient packaging and amazing features of this affordable SVS.

Said Howard: 
"... sensational subwoofer, particularly at the price."
"...the PC-Ultra is a match (or better than a match) for any other sub I have ever reviewed...."
"... the net result is probably the best and most sensible "super" subwoofer I have ever reviewed".

Keeping in mind this SVS has  the same sort of technology as the dual woofer PB12-Ultra/2 and the upcoming PB12-Ultra single driver version, you can see there's both motive and opportunity to assault your upgrade funds on behalf of movies and music CD's you have yet to experience fully.
